Little Caterpillars
- Cooking lessons for 3 to 5 year olds

About our classes

We believe a child is never to young to start experimenting in the kitchen with lots of tasty and nutritious food.

But children of a pre-school age can often be reluctant to try new foods.  Being mums ourselves, we understand the challenges of raising a fussy eater! One of the easiest ways to introduce your child to new foods and encourage them to eat a more varied diet is to get them in the kitchen and help make some simple but tasty dishes.

We designed our Little Caterpillar classes as the perfect start to introducing your child to the world of food and cooking.  We have the perfect recipe for fun in the kitchen that you and your child will enjoy.  We mix lots of cooking, with singing, dancing and story telling and add a sprinkling of foodie craft to create an hour of fun and laughter that you and your child can enjoy together, without the stress of mess in your own kitchen! We provide aprons, ingredients and equipment so your you and your child can get creating with as little fuss as possible.

Each week we make a different savoury dish or sweet treat that you can take home and share with the family. They also get a wipe-clean recipe card to practice their recipe at home.

What will my child learn?
  • An essential life skill which they can develop during childhood and into adulthood

  • Confidence in the kitchen

  • What a social and pleasurable experience cooking and sharing food with others can be

  • Where their food comes from

  • Lots of new and exciting tastes and textures as we actively encourage them to feel and taste all the foods they prepare

  • Children learn to measure, chop, and mix ingredients safely to make tasty nutritious dishes
